Based under the idyllic Belvoir Castle, Cafe Allez has fast become a key stop for many a cyclist. Sourcing as locally as possible.The coffee is roasted by 200 Degrees from Nottingham, bread from Grantham bakery Bloomsbury, sausages from The Country Victualler at The Engine Yard (which is situated across the road form the cafe) and ice cream from Thaymar Dairy Ice Cream, a family firm in Retford. Their cycling theme has a nod to cycling, which reflects their passion for riding and the thriving cycling scene in the Vale of Belvoir: With a track pump available and a free fill of your bidon, they also stock a wide range of ‘get you home’ bike spares.

With an array of cakes that are of just the right cycling sized portion...massive...we know that there is a cake to suit all tastes. Make sure you get there early for the freshly baked scones and take a rest with a pot of tea or coffee. The place bustles around you, with locals from Southwell dropping in to peruse the garden centre and club rides a plenty from Lincolnshire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

The closet pit stop to our shop (around 5 miles away) Belle and Joes at Timmermans garden centre has been serving cyclists for as long as we can remember. With an extensive selection of home cooked and baked goods to boot. It is a popular stop before you attack the short climbs of either Bank hill from Woodborough or Georges Lane from Calverton.

Set in rural Leicestershire under the impressive windmill, this coffee stop is set back on quiet undulating roads with picturesque views. The furthest away from our shop this is a 60 mile round ride. Popular with cyclists form Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire, they have an array of teas, coffees and cake, or light lunches. If the day isn't too cold, you can sit underneath the 200-year-old windmill and soak in the surroundings.
