Hi there! My name is Mick Green and I am
the owner of Langdale Lightweights, Nottingham’s
premier cycle shop.
It has finally arrived the cycling season
is well and truely under way.
Local evening time trials start next week
, evening chain gangs have begun and those
just out for the summer rides enjoy the light
nights.
We are a second generation family shop that
has been trading for 33 years and we
pride ourselves on the work that we
do.
I hope you will find this website informative
and I plan to keep it regularly updated with
various offers, news reports of local riders,
ride's and events that you may be taking
part in. Whether it is a Lands End to John O’Groats
ride or a rider doing well in a race
or a sportive or even a rider just in love
with his or her bike that wants to tell everyone
all about it.
Soon we will here about a commuter who we
have given full renavation to his pride
and joy a Claud Bulter touring bike
that has been brought back to its former
glory.
This Guy does 40 mile most days to work and
back , with a planned tour for easter he
will soon be clocking the miles up.
We sell bikes and frames of our own marque
Langdale which will be seen on the roads of
Nottingham and the East Midlands and also
around the world. We also sell goods from
BMC, Cervelo, Casarti, Pinarello, Time and
Giant (including their electric hyrbrid range). Coming any day some of the latest
models from Orbea, this state of the art
manufacturer from Spain brings us models
such as the carbon road frame the Orca. A
carbon road bike for around a £1000
can it be true .... and a full hit road bike
for £550.
We are member of the “Cycle to Work” scheme which makes a real difference to
the cost of purchasing your new bike , although
petrol prices have recently improved the
benefit to your health and wellbeing surely
makes great sense.
Best Wishes Mick .

Sarah King
I used to be a full time swimmer, swimming
up to 16 hours a week and reaching Nationals
Championships in 2004. A few years after
this I realized I wasn’t get as much
out of swimming as I wanted to, and so last
year I had a go at a triathlon and really
enjoyed it. However I started to enjoy the
cycling even more and joined the local club
and took part in the Sunday club run every
week and did a few time trials to end the
season. Since then I’ve become part
of the Regional Triathlon Academy and I’ve
been invited onto British Cycling Talent
Team camps, and loving it all. I’m
looking forward to competing in the National
Series Races with my R3, which has made such
a difference to my cycling.
Thank you so much for both my Cervelo’s
Mick, which I have enjoyed riding so much
over the last few weeks. After taking my
R3 to Lanzarote, I have really noticed how
much of a difference it makes to have a bike
that is actually fitted to me. The handling
is so much easier and it makes me feel a
lot more confident on corners and coming
down mountains at 49mph! Also I used my P2
for my first 7 mile time trial of the season
and knocked 52 seconds off my previous time,
I absolutely love the bike it’s made
such a difference in the way I’m going
to be riding my time trials from now on.
Mick,
My story regarding the bike.
For a number of years I had thought of buying
a road bike but never quite got round to
it until something unusual happened whilst
walking my dog early one morning. There in
the hedge was a rather old road bike thrown
carelessly away. I retrieved the bike and
reported my find to the local cop shop that
took the details and asked me to hold on
to the bike for a number of weeks before
it became mine. During this period I discovered
that I had found a hand made Langdale Lightweight
which meant nothing to me at that time. When
the period ended I visited Langdale on Westdale
Lane and agreed for Mick to strip down, repaint,
and rebuild the bike . As a follower of West
Ham F.C. since the early sixties I asked
Mick to incorporate the teams’ colours
and left the design to Mick. On Tuesday the
bike was ready for collection and I could
not be more pleased with the result, so many
thanks to those involved.
Kind regards from Dave Clark

Mick hi
Wow
I’m writing to say thank you. I know
you’ve had a real testing time of late
and my best wishes go out to Karen, yourself
and your family. Despite what must be very
difficult circumstances for you guys I have
to say you have delivered me an absolutely
beautiful ride!
Firstly the looks – the pearlescent
white finish and black components give a
really timeless and stylish finish. She has
real presence in the garage, on the road
and propped up outside the many places I’ve
stopped for a swift half. Ive only been out
twice but on both rides have been asked about
the bike
Secondly the performance – even though
still an alloy frame she’s a lot lighter
than the dawes and that’s immediately
noticeable. Add this to the additional range
the veloce drive train brings and the bike
packs a lot of punch, you can really fee
the energy in the frame and the acceleration
is swift and effortless
Thirdly she climbs fantastically well and
once that 12-28 is on the back its going
to be bonkers
Roll on a very long summer and those
Spanish mountains next year!
So, thanks to you and tim for all your advice,
effort and for the end result you’ve
produced. Absolutely brilliant!
Drop me a mail when the rear cassette is
available and I’ll pop by
Hope the tria-athlon went well and hopefully
speak soon
Take care
